Role Overview

The Cluster Collections Manager will be responsible for leading collections activity in an assigned cluster, managing execution through internal teams and external recovery partners, and ensuring strong portfolio health, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide a team of Collection Executives while coordinating with third-party recovery agencies to ensure target delivery.
  • Oversee the collections workflow for the assigned cluster and track important performance indicators such as resolution rates and delinquency bucket movement.
  • Own delinquency control and overdue recovery efforts, with a focus on reducing roll rates and limiting bucket-level delinquencies.
  • Create and implement collection strategies suited to the nature of overdue accounts in the cluster, using portfolio analysis and data-led decision-making.
  • Ensure full compliance with collections SOPs, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor delinquent accounts on a daily basis, review performance regularly, and share clear reports on progress, issues, and corrective actions.

  • Strong analytical thinking for trend analysis, performance tracking, and process improvement.
  • Clear communication skills for working with team members, senior stakeholders, and external agencies.
  • A results-driven mindset focused on meeting and exceeding short- and long-term targets.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • A graduate degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in collections is needed, including 1 to 2 years in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in a bank, new-age NBFC, or fintech organization is preferred.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively and maintain performance under pressure.
  • Strong judgment, proactive communication, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
