Role Overview
The Cluster Collection Manager will lead collections operations for an assigned cluster, manage field and recovery teams, and help improve delinquency control, recovery performance, and compliance. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide a team of collection executives, while also coordinating with external recovery partners to ensure consistent execution.
- Own the collections process for the assigned cluster and track important metrics such as resolution performance and delinquency bucket movement.
- Manage overdue accounts and recovery efforts, with the goal of reducing roll rates and controlling bucket-level delinquency.
- Design and implement collections actions suited to the profile of overdue accounts in the cluster, using portfolio data to shape decisions.
- Ensure all collections activity follows internal procedures, standard operating guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Review delinquent portfolios on a daily basis and share regular reports covering performance, challenges, and recommended actions.
Functional Competencies
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team to meet collections goals with clear direction and regular feedback.
- Use data and performance trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and better outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with team members, senior stakeholders, and third-party agencies.
- Stay focused on achieving targets and delivering both immediate and long-term results.
Qualifications and Attributes
- A graduate degree is required.
- At least 5 years of overall experience in collections is required.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience should be in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
- Experience in a bank, new-age NBFC, or fintech organization is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills are important.
- The role calls for sound judgment and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach are expected.
