Role overview
Blew & Associates, P.A. is looking for a meticulous and well-organized Drafting Technician to support engineering and construction projects from their Grapevine, Texas office. The role focuses on producing clear, accurate technical drawings and working in coordination with surveyor project managers, quality control managers, and other teammates to make sure project needs are translated into workable design documents. Strong drafting skills and hands-on experience with AutoCAD or similar tools are essential.
Responsibilities
- Turn sketches, calculations, and written specifications into detailed technical drawings.
- Develop plans, layouts, and other drawing sets required for project execution.
- Work alongside surveying professionals to confirm that designs are practical and accurate.
- Revise drawings when project feedback or scope changes require updates.
- Ensure all drawings align with applicable industry rules, codes, and regulations.
- Keep drawing files, revisions, and supporting documentation well organized.
- Keep pace with current drafting methods and software developments.
- Deliver completed drawings on schedule and meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- An associate degree or certification in drafting, engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD and other drafting applications.
- Excellent accuracy and a strong eye for detail.
- Ability to review and understand drawings, notes, and technical specifications.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Comfort working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with surveying concepts and principles.
- Experience in land surveying or civil engineering would be an advantage.
