Role Overview
As the Vice President of Care Delivery, you will lead the clinical team and oversee daily patient care operations. You will be responsible for the entire clinical operation, including staffing, onboarding, clinician oversight, quality assurance, patient satisfaction, clinical metrics, and continuous improvement of care delivery processes.
This senior leadership position requires hands-on management with close involvement in clinical activities to support the team effectively, resolve challenges, and ensure successful execution of clinical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Protera’s clinical staff including physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and health coaches.
- Set clear expectations, communication protocols, and performance standards for clinicians.
- Provide coaching and professional development to promote clinical excellence, teamwork, and personal accountability.
- Conduct performance evaluations and promptly address any issues related to clinical performance or professionalism.
- Develop and implement a strong clinical leadership framework as the team expands.
- Design clinical staffing plans based on patient demand, enrollment trends, quality, access, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with Operations and People teams for clinician recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding high-quality care providers.
- Ensure new clinicians are thoroughly trained and capable of independent patient care delivery.
- Maintain balanced clinician workloads that optimize coverage, patient access, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure consistent delivery of patient-centered, high-quality care through monitoring clinical outcomes, documentation, patient experience, and clinician performance.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives including chart audits, case reviews, and performance management interventions.
- Collaborate with physician leadership on clinical protocols, complex case management, scope-of-practice, and governance.
- Optimize clinical workflows, scheduling, interdisciplinary coordination, and escalation pathways to enhance patient care journeys.
- Address operational barriers promptly to support both patients and clinical staff.
- Maintain up-to-date, practical clinical policies and standard operating procedures ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Develop scalable care delivery infrastructure to support growth without compromising clinical excellence.
- Lead company-wide clinical projects from concept through execution, measurement, and continuous refinement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Data, Operations, Enrollment, and Client teams to enhance existing programs and launch new services.
- Represent the clinical team in product and service design decisions affecting workflows and patient experience.
- Ensure successful adoption of new initiatives by clinicians and confirm achievement of intended outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- At least seven years of experience in care delivery operations or a related healthcare field.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams and overseeing clinicians directly.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, onboarding, coaching, evaluating, and developing clinical care teams.
- Skilled in designing scalable clinical operations, quality programs, and performance management systems.
- Deep understanding of clinical quality standards, patient safety, documentation, access, and patient experience metrics.
- Track record of owning clinical key performance indicators (KPIs) and driving measurable improvements.
- Strong leadership in managing multiple projects simultaneously, from planning to execution.
- Exceptional judgment, organizational abilities, communication skills, and problem-solving orientation.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and responsibilities.
- Hands-on approach, accountability, collaborative mindset, and proactive resolution of challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active clinical licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physical Therapist.
- Experience in musculoskeletal, orthopedic, rehabilitation, or pain management care.
- Background managing remote or multi-state clinical teams.
- Familiarity with digital health, virtual care, value-based care, or technology-enabled healthcare delivery.
- Experience utilizing patient-reported outcomes, clinical analytics, and quality improvement methodologies.
