The company’s virtual, multidisciplinary care team comprises physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, health coaches, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to treating patients with the same care as they would their own family members.

Role Overview

The Vice President of Care Delivery will oversee the full clinical operations, leading the clinical team and managing the daily delivery of patient care. This key leadership position involves responsibility for workforce planning, recruitment, clinical team management, quality compliance, patient satisfaction, clinical outcome monitoring, and implementing continuous care delivery improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Protera’s clinical team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, coaches, and other care professionals, setting clear performance goals, accountability measures, communication standards, and professional expectations.
  • Coach and nurture clinicians to maintain clinical excellence, professionalism, teamwork, and independence; conduct timely performance evaluations and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Develop a clinical leadership structure to support team growth and operational effectiveness.
  • Plan clinical staffing and capacity based on patient enrollment, demand forecasting, quality standards, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations and People teams to select, recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain skilled clinicians, ensuring new hires are fully prepared for independent patient care.
  • Maintain adequate clinical coverage while balancing workloads, patient access, and care quality.
  • Ensure delivery of consistent, patient-centered high-quality care; monitor clinical quality, documentation integrity, patient experience, and clinician performance.
  • Lead quality improvement processes including chart audits, case reviews, performance plans, and monitor clinical outcomes, patient engagement, satisfaction, and operational metrics.
  • Identify areas needing improvement and implement necessary corrective and preventive initiatives.
  • Partner with physician leadership on clinical protocols, handling complex cases, scope of practice, and governance issues.
  • Oversee patient care progression from initial evaluation through treatment, follow-up, escalation, and program completion.
  • Optimize clinical workflows, scheduling, interdisciplinary handoffs, and escalation pathways to deliver seamless care.
  • Address day-to-day operational barriers impacting patients or clinicians and ensure clinical policies are practical, up-to-date, and adhered to.
  • Build scalable care delivery systems that support growth without diminishing quality or patient experience.
  • Lead clinical improvement projects from conception to execution, including defining project scope, ownership, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Technology, Data, Operations, Enrollment, and Client services to enhance programs and implement new clinical services.
  • Represent clinical interests in decisions related to workflows, platform functionality, and service design ensuring successful adoption and impact of new initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in care delivery operations or similar healthcare leadership roles.
  • Proven track record managing multidisciplinary clinical teams including direct oversight of clinicians.
  • Expertise in recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, evaluating, and developing clinical staff.
  • Experience designing scalable clinical operations, quality assurance programs, and performance management systems.
  • Strong understanding of clinical quality standards, patient safety protocols, documentation requirements, access, and satisfaction metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage key performance indicators and achieve measurable care improvements.
  • Successful leadership of multiple projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
