Vice President, Controller and Finance

About the Role

Mantle Reach Power is currently searching for a Vice President, Controller & Finance to lead their financial operations. Mantle Reach Power is an independent developer, owner, and operator of geothermal power projects throughout North America, committed to delivering scalable, finance-ready clean energy. The company is backed by EnCap Investments, which has nearly four decades of experience and over $47 billion raised in energy sector funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and assume full responsibility for all traditional finance departments, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, financial planning & analysis, and financial reporting.
• Guarantee precise monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closes in full compliance with GAAP for all company entities and partnerships.
• Design and implement comprehensive budgeting processes and manage ongoing budget-to-actual analyses and forecasting tools.
• Maintain and audit internal financial controls to protect company assets and ensure data integrity; supervise annual auditing procedures.
• Manage tax planning efforts and assure compliance across all operational jurisdictions.
• Oversee corporate insurance strategies and coverage.
• Assist with project financing operations such as draw requests, lender communications, and cost monitoring for drilling and plant construction projects.
• Support the team on mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions.
• Identify and address financial, operational, and regulatory risks to the organization.
• Implement and improve financial systems, including ERPs and business intelligence tools, to enhance automation and scalability.
• Create efficient accounts payable and purchase order processes and develop accounts receivable procedures.
• Manage relationships with external accounting and finance service providers to ensure delivery of quality financial services.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 10 years in relevant finance roles, preferentially within renewable energy sectors and experienced with partnership and tax equity accounting methodologies like HLBV and equity method.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related area is mandatory; CPA or CFA certification required.
• Proven capability to thrive in dynamic, rapidly growing organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software applications.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

The company provides a competitive salary package tailored to the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model favoring candidates located in Vancouver; however, New York-based or fully remote candidates may be considered under suitable circumstances.
