About the Role
Inspiring Vet Care is seeking a compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join AllPets Veterinary Hospital located in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. This hybrid position uniquely blends daytime general practice nursing with emergency and critical care (ECC) in an out-of-hours service setting. The opportunity offers flexibility in scheduling—either full-time or part-time hours—with permanent or fixed-term contracts available. This role enables nurses to gain emergency care experience without routine night shifts since overnight care is managed by a dedicated night team.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nursing care across general practice and emergency cases during day and weekend shifts.
- Support veterinary surgeons in consultations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Monitor, care for, and communicate updates on hospitalized patients to clients.
- Run nurse clinics and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards in patient welfare.
Working Hours & Flexibility
- Participate in out-of-hours weekend shifts, typically Saturday 7–8am to 6:30pm, Sunday 9am–7:30pm or 2:30pm–7:30pm, and bank holidays with similar timings.
- Work flexible weekday shifts aligned with personal preferences and practice needs, such as Friday and Monday to complement weekend work.
- Customize schedules to include alternate weekends, weekly weekends, part-time arrangements, or full-time with a mix of day and emergency care.
Candidate Profile
- Registered Veterinary Nurse with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
- Eligible to work in Ireland, with experience in small animal practice.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to work calmly in fast-paced environments.
- Committed to delivering excellent patient and client care with a collaborative team spirit.
- Prior emergency or out-of-hours experience desirable but not essential—enthusiasm to develop ECC skills encouraged.
