Job description

Position Overview

The Department of Oncology at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering exciting Trust Grade ST1/ST2 (equivalent to SHO) roles starting from 5 August 2026 for a one-year term. This full-time position includes on-call duties and provides educational and training opportunities similar to those available to trainee doctors, including study leave benefits. Successful candidates will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team delivering world-renowned oncology services.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed doctor will perform clinical duties such as history taking, patient examination, diagnosis, clinical decision-making, safe prescribing, and accurate medical record maintenance. These tasks require achieving competencies equivalent to Foundation Year Two (FY2).

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold a valid licence to practise. They must have completed FY2 competencies, have relevant prior experience in internal medicine and haemato/oncology, and have worked within the NHS environment. Strong teamwork abilities and excellent English communication skills are mandatory.
