Job description
Position Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is offering a 6 to 12-month fixed-term contract for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at a major trauma center in London. This opportunity suits early to mid-stage Emergency Medicine or Paediatric trainees equivalent to ST1-ST3, as well as those undertaking a post-Foundation year (FY3), seeking to deepen their practical skills and exposure in this specialty.
Role Details
The successful candidate will be integrated into a consultant-led team that delivers comprehensive emergency care for East London. The department handles a diverse caseload, including major trauma cases from North East London and Essex, seeing approximately 180,000 total patients annually, with 40,000 of them being paediatric cases. The post involves performing SHO-level duties within the paediatric emergency department as part of a full shift rota.
Supervision and Support
Junior clinical fellows receive continuous clinical supervision from paediatric emergency medicine consultants and registrars on a 24/7 basis, and will have a designated educational supervisor responsible for developmental and pastoral guidance.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold full General Medical Council registration with a licence to practice.
