Role overview
Foodmax is creating Singapore’s first end-to-end B2B food procurement platform, connecting food suppliers with restaurants, hawker stalls, coffee shops, and chain outlets. The platform covers fresh produce, frozen items, condiments, dry groceries, cooking oil, beverages, and more.
As the Supplier Acquisition Expert for fresh produce, you will be responsible for bringing high-quality produce suppliers into the network so merchants can access the right products at competitive prices.
Work location
The role is based onsite at The JTC Summit, 8 Jurong Town Hall Road, #18-06, Singapore 609434.
Compensation
The monthly salary offered is SGD 5,000 to SGD 10,000, along with a performance bonus.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and engage fruit and vegetable wholesalers, importers, and farm-direct suppliers across Singapore, including Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre, as well as suppliers in Malaysia.
- Negotiate business partnerships and onboard suppliers so the platform offers broad coverage across produce categories.
- Create category-wise acquisition plans by estimating supplier needs across leafy vegetables, root crops, tropical fruits, and other produce segments.
- Run the full supplier onboarding process, including compliance review, contract discussions, and coordination for product listings, so suppliers can start selling quickly.
- Monitor supplier quality and commercial performance on an ongoing basis, remove weak performers, and add stronger options to keep pricing and quality competitive.
- Work closely with the Supplier Operations team after onboarding, share customer demand insights with Sales for reverse sourcing, and coordinate with Fulfillment to support cold-chain readiness for fresh items.
Candidate profile
The company is looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in supplier acquisition, business development, or procurement, preferably in fresh produce supply chains or B2B platform environments.
Applicants should understand produce-category fundamentals such as seasonality, sourcing regions, refrigeration and cold-chain handling, and shelf-life management.
Experience with Singapore wholesale markets such as Pasir Panjang, or with farm supply chains in Malaysia, will be considered an advantage.
English will be used at work, and Mandarin fluency is required to communicate with China-based suppliers and the HQ team.
The role requires someone willing to build a long-term career in Singapore and who is comfortable working across different cultures and markets.
Preferred background
Experience with Meituan Kuailv or a similar F&B wholesale sourcing platform is preferred, along with knowledge of Southeast Asian food supply chains and prior overseas work exposure.
