About the company
Foodmax is creating Singapore’s first B2B, single-window procurement platform for food businesses. The marketplace will connect upstream suppliers with downstream F&B buyers such as restaurants, hawker stalls, coffee shops, and chain outlets. The assortment spans fresh produce, frozen items, condiments, dry goods, cooking oil, beverages, and more.
The objective of this role is to bring high-quality produce suppliers into the platform so merchants can access the products they need at competitive prices.
Location and compensation
Work location: The JTC Summit, 8 Jurong Town Hall Road, #18-06, Singapore 609434.
Pay: SGD 5,000 to SGD 10,000 per month, along with a performance bonus.
What you will do
- Identify and approach fruit and vegetable wholesalers, importers, and farm-direct suppliers in Singapore, including Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre, as well as suppliers in Malaysia.
- Negotiate commercial arrangements and bring suppliers onto the platform to build strong coverage across produce categories.
- Set category-level sourcing goals by mapping the supplier mix needed for leafy greens, root vegetables, tropical fruits, and other produce groups.
- Run the complete supplier onboarding process, including compliance verification, contract discussions, and coordination of product listings so suppliers can start selling quickly.
- Monitor supplier performance and sales trends on an ongoing basis, removing weak performers and replacing them with stronger options to maintain price and quality competitiveness.
- Work closely with the Supplier Operations team after onboarding, coordinate with Sales on demand signals for reverse sourcing, and partner with Fulfillment to support cold-chain readiness for fresh produce delivery.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in supplier acquisition, business development, or procurement, preferably within fresh produce supply chains or B2B platform environments.
- Good knowledge of produce sourcing fundamentals, including seasonality, sourcing geographies, cold-chain handling, and shelf-life control.
- Exposure to Singapore wholesale markets such as Pasir Panjang, or to Malaysia-based farm supply networks, will be a strong advantage.
- Must be able to use English at work and speak Mandarin fluently, as these are needed for communication with China-based suppliers and headquarters.
- Willingness to be based in Singapore for the long term and operate comfortably across different cultures.
- Preferred background includes experience with Meituan Kuailv, similar F&B wholesale platforms, Southeast Asian food supply chains, or overseas assignments.
