Overview

Become a part of RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic, offering flexible working arrangements protected by an attractive compensation package. You will play a vital role providing adaptable roadside assistance solutions across various locations in Walsall and nearby areas.

Work Environment and Schedule

Your base will be in the Walsall cluster, covering towns including Aldridge, Brownhills, Cannock, Lichfield, Burntwood, and Sutton Coldfield. Work is organized locally allowing you to start each day from home and concentrate on aiding members within your vicinity.

Expect shifts between 6:00 AM and 2:00 AM, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Weekly working hours average around 40, with rosters provided seven days in advance and core hours confirmed three days prior.

Key Responsibilities and Role Essence

Working as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic means you are more than a vehicle technician; you act as a problem solver and representative of RAC, managing diverse roadside issues such as diagnostics, battery replacement, and tyre repairs. You will maintain your vehicle and equipment stock, deliver efficient service, and manage reports accurately.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least two years of related experience.
  • Have five or more years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.

Additionally, candidates need a valid full UK driving license with fewer than six penalty points.
