About the Role

Join the RAC team as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic, providing crucial flexibility and expertise that sustain our roadside assistance service. This role offers a robust working schedule averaging 40 hours weekly throughout the year, with rosters provided a week ahead and core hours confirmed three days in advance. Shifts vary between 6:00 AM and 2:00 AM, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, primarily serving areas such as Exeter and Swindon in the South West.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you'll quickly adapt to a variety of roadside issues, from fault diagnostics to mechanical fixes including flat tires and battery problems. You'll independently manage and maintain your equipment and van stock, prepare accurate reports after each assignment, and deliver customer-centric service that reflects the RAC's high standards. Maintaining composure under pressure and clear communication with members are essential to the role.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance or its equivalent, demonstrating strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic areas. A valid full UK driving license is mandatory. Candidates should exhibit flexibility to work on short notice and be willing to travel including overnight stays when necessary.
