About the Role

Join the RAC as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic and enjoy a career that appreciates true flexibility. This position demands the adaptability that keeps our roadside assistance service running smoothly.

Work Schedule and Location

You will typically work around 40 hours per week distributed throughout the year. Weekly rosters are provided seven days in advance, with finalized core hours confirmed three days prior. Your shifts may occur between 6:00 AM and 2:00 AM, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Your duties will be based in the Bournemouth cluster, covering Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham, and Swanage. All work is arranged locally, enabling you to begin and end your day at home while focusing on assisting members in your area.

Candidate Requirements

  • Either hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or possess over 5 years of experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 5 penalty points.

Role Expectations

You must be excellent at problem-solving, personable, and proudly represent the RAC brand. The job involves varied tasks like fault diagnostics, changing flat tyres, and battery replacements. Managing your own equipment, maintaining stock in your van, and accurately reporting after each call are vital to success.
