Position Overview
We are recruiting a full-time Stretcher Attendant to join our team in Winnipeg. This entry-level opportunity requires no prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you for safely transferring stable patients between medical facilities or their homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with a partner to deliver outstanding patient care and customer service.
- Safely transfer stable patients across medical sites and to home settings.
- Communicate and coordinate with healthcare professionals as required.
- Accurately document patient information and transport details.
- Provide support and interaction to patients throughout their transfer.
- Continuously monitor patient condition and address their needs promptly.
- Maintain communication with Dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and protocols.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Exhibit kindness, empathy, and respect in all patient interactions.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude and demeanor.
- Be self-driven, punctual, and enthusiastic about learning.
- Remain calm and composed under emergency or stressful circumstances.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Physically capable of lifting and transporting patients over 250 lbs using stretchers or stair chairs collaboratively.
- Practice safe driving habits and possess a clean driving record.
Mandatory Certifications and Clearances (Issued within last 60 days)
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Criminal Record Check inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Search
- Standard First Aid with CPR (Basic Life Support)
Licensing Requirements
- Possession of a valid Class 4F Driver's License.
- Current holding of a Class 5F Driver's License.
Employment Details
This is a permanent, full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, situated in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our operations run 24/7; positions are on a rotating weekly schedule to support work-life balance and employee well-being.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is $18.50.
