Role Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and overseeing store personnel to meet sales targets and individual objectives while managing costs and protecting company assets. The role also focuses on identifying growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently meet and exceed both store-wide and personal sales goals and performance standards.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard highly capable staff to fulfill store requirements.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and enforce company policies for all employees.
- Ensure accurate and thorough implementation of all company initiatives according to management directives.
- Communicate inventory replenishment needs to district management, distribution, and purchasing departments.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews for team members.
- Identify and support talented employees in career advancement within the company.
- Manage daily store operations comprehensively.
- Oversee and implement all aspects of loss prevention policies.
- Prepare weekly staff schedules following company scheduling policies.
- Deliver an engaging, enjoyable, and comprehensive customer experience.
- Effectively address and resolve customer concerns.
- Carry out bank deposit procedures.
- Embody and transmit the culture and values of Little Burgundy to the team.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous retail management experience is preferred.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in retail sales.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Motivated to thrive in a dynamic retail environment.
- Bilingualism as required (specifically for Quebec locations).
- A willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Completion of all training programs leading to the Manager-in-Training role or an equivalent qualification.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week including nights and weekends.
- Physical capability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, and to remain standing for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years old; age requirements may vary by province or region.
- Basic proficiency in English is needed to effectively communicate with all customers, including English-speaking tourists, as well as home office personnel located in Nashville.
