SKIMS is a solutions-driven brand redefining underwear, loungewear, and shapewear for a new era. The company is seeking a Store Leader for its Country Club Plaza location in Kansas City, MO. This position offers the chance to strengthen your leadership capability while directly influencing store performance.
In this role, you will build, coach, and inspire a team that reflects the SKIMS approach. The focus is on people-first leadership, deep product enthusiasm, and strong store operations. You should be comfortable developing diverse teams, solving complex challenges, and creating a retail environment that feels energetic, polished, and customer-centered.
You will work closely with the HQ team to deliver results and ensure the store provides elevated service at a fast pace. The ideal leader can keep standards high, support team members in real time, and maintain a refined customer experience even during busy periods. This role also calls for strong business judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly while continuing to raise performance.
Responsibilities
- Champion a customer-first approach so every team member creates a welcoming, inclusive, and personalized guest experience.
- Coach the team live on the sales floor to improve connection, conversion, and service quality.
- Deliver premium service efficiently while preserving authenticity, culture, and emotional intelligence during high-volume periods.
- Embed the brand mission and values into the store experience and train team members to become strong product experts.
- Maintain a strong operational presence, overseeing daily activities, visual presentation, replenishment, merchandising, and overall store standards.
- Manage business results, including P&L, payroll, inventory, and productivity, and adjust actions based on sales and operational trends.
- Use sound judgment and the right tools to optimize performance while keeping the customer experience central.
- Stay adaptable, solution-oriented, and open to feedback, while encouraging continuous learning and improvement across the team and with corporate partners.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain strong talent to build a high-performing and healthy store culture.
- Create development plans, give purposeful feedback, and coach team members toward growth and career progression.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and respect through clear communication and structure.
- Set an example of resilience, energy, and consistency that motivates the team to do their best work.
- Align daily execution with long-term business goals through data-informed leadership and behavior modeling.
- Partner cross-functionally with HQ support teams on strategy, feedback, and new store initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, guiding, and developing retail teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
- Strong customer service judgment and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and comfort with change.
- Strong organizational and operational capabilities.
- Sharp visual merchandising sense and close attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand, move throughout the store, and remain accessible to customers for the entire scheduled shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, stretch, and lift/carry/move items up to 40 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
- Must not want to be an influencer.
- Full-time open availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
