Role Summary
The Director of Manufacturing will be an integral part of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations across multiple plants. This role involves spearheading initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. The position demands strong leadership in managing production teams, designing manufacturing strategies, and aligning operational objectives with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing activities across production departments.
- Formulate and execute strategies to bolster safety, quality, productivity, and control costs.
- Mentor and develop management personnel and production staff.
- Set performance targets and enforce accountability for achieving results.
- Assess production capacity, staffing levels, equipment needs, and workflow efficiency.
- Implement process improvements aimed at minimizing downtime, waste, and operational expenses.
- Collaborate closely with departments including maintenance, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering.
- Ensure compliance with company policies alongside safety and regulatory standards.
- Track key performance indicators and communicate operational updates to senior leadership.
- Support capital investment projects, equipment modernization, and long-term growth plans within manufacturing.
Qualifications and Skills
- 7 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in managing managers, supervisors, and large production teams.
- Strong expertise in production planning, lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and performance management.
- Demonstrated success in boosting operational results and managing organizational change.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to integrate strategic planning with hands-on operational direction.
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Effective skills in communication, writing, and presentations.
