Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles the application review and follow-up process. The employer is seeking a Staff Market Researcher in Canada.

You will work at the crossroads of research, strategy, and product and marketing decisions, helping influence how consumers find, compare, and select home services. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will own mixed-method research from start to finish and convert complex findings into practical guidance. The position requires strong autonomy, close collaboration with marketing, product, design, and data science, and a customer-first mindset. It also places emphasis on using AI-assisted research methods to improve speed, scale, and analytical depth while maintaining strong research rigor.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently plan, run, and interpret mixed-method research programs that combine qualitative and quantitative approaches.
  • Create and manage surveys, including questionnaire programming, weighting, and statistical analysis, to produce dependable insights.
  • Use qualitative techniques such as interviews, focus groups, diary studies, and usability testing to build deeper understanding of users.
  • Work with marketing, product, design, and data science partners to uncover research needs and guide business decisions.
  • Turn detailed research output into clear recommendations that inform product strategy, marketing direction, and brand positioning.
  • Choose the right research approach based on the business question, balancing exploratory depth with quantitative confidence.
  • Represent customer and market viewpoints so decisions reflect user needs and competitive realities.
  • Apply AI tools throughout research, synthesis, analysis, and reporting while carefully checking the quality and accuracy of outputs.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of market research experience in fast-moving, consumer-facing environments, at a senior or staff level.
  • Strong practical experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods, including full ownership of survey design, launch, and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of advanced research topics such as segmentation, weighting, response bias, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Demonstrated background in research for branding, messaging, positioning, and advertising effectiveness.
  • Comfort using AI tools in research workflows, paired with the judgment to verify and challenge outputs.
  • Hands-on experience with research and analytics tools such as Qualtrics, dScout, SPSS, R, or Python.
  • Proven ability to move work from vague problems to business decisions and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify complex findings for different audiences.
  • Degree in Market Research, Psychology, Economics, HCI, Business, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.

Perks and benefits

  • Competitive compensation of CAD 176,800 to CAD 228,800, based on experience and location.
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible remote working arrangements within Canada, with Ontario and British Columbia eligible.
  • Chance to lead high-impact research that shapes product, brand, and marketing strategy at scale.
  • Access to modern AI-enabled research tools that help speed up workflows and insight generation.
  • Close collaboration with teams across marketing, product, design, and data science.
  • Inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on improving real consumer experiences.

Additional information

This role is for candidates based in Canada. Flexible remote work is available only within Canada, with Ontario and British Columbia listed as eligible locations. The hiring process and next steps are managed by the partner company.
