The University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a Sessional Lecturer for ENG110H5F Narrative in the Department of English & Drama. • Estimated TA support: approximately 320 hours

Compensation

Pay is set per full course and depends on sessional lecturer classification level:

• SL1: $19,994.95 per full course
• SL1 Long Term: $21,398.43 per full course
• SL2: $21,398.43 per full course
• SL2 Long Term: $21,907.92 per full course
• SL3: $21,907.92 per full course
• SL3 Long Term: $22,457.80 per full course

If the collective agreement rates differ from the figures listed here, the collective agreement rates will apply.

Responsibilities

• Design and teach a credit-bearing university course from start to finish.
• Prepare and deliver lectures and other course content.
• Create, administer, and mark assignments, tests, and exams.
• Calculate and submit final grades.
• Hold regular office hours for students.
• Supervise assigned teaching assistants, if applicable.

Minimum qualifications

• A PhD in English is required; applicants without a PhD will not be considered.
• Experience teaching narrative and literary forms at the university level.
• A strong scholarly record, including substantial publications.
• Evidence of effective teaching ability.
• Current knowledge of the subject area.

This posting is made under the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Some vacancy announcements are provisional and may depend on final course offerings and enrolment.

Where any pay rates in the collective agreement differ from those listed here, the collective agreement prevails. Hiring preference is given to qualified individuals who have advanced to Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III status in line with Article 14:12 of the collective agreement.

University of Toronto undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, are covered by CUPE 3902 Unit 1 rather than Unit 3 and should not apply for this posting.
