Sessional Lecturer - BIO259H5F Introduction to Biological Data

Position Overview

The University of Toronto's Woodsworth College is seeking a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach the course BIO259H5F - Introduction to Biological Data at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline and demonstrate prior experience teaching this or similar courses. Selection is based on academic qualifications, teaching ability, and suitability for the role.

Responsibilities

The role includes all typical university teaching duties: preparing and delivering lectures, developing and administering assignments, tests, and exams, grading and submitting final marks, and maintaining regular student contact through office hours. The course involves both in-person lectures and practical sessions. Additionally, the Lecturer will oversee daily activities of any assigned Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants.

Compensation

Salary is determined by the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, with rates ranging from $9,997.48 to $11,228.90 depending on rank and term length. All stated fees include vacation pay. In case of discrepancies between this posting and the collective agreement, the agreement shall take precedence.
