Position Overview
The Senior Web Strategist will join the Web Experience Team under the Director, Web Experience. This pivotal role entails leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives for EDC's website and ensuring alignment with enterprise customer experience goals in collaboration with the Customer Experience team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design website strategies and roadmaps suiting both short-term and long-term digital and customer experience visions.
- Collaborate with the Customer Experience Centre of Excellence to define ideal customer journeys and future digital channel visions.
- Engage with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to create actionable and execution-ready strategies.
- Perform research, assess current states, and benchmark industry best practices to inform strategies.
- Define clear objectives, success metrics, and requisite resources based on strategic plans.
- Develop data-driven approaches to personalize digital experiences.
- Work alongside designers to produce user flows tailored to target personas.
- Assist in creating scalable personalization and content strategies including SEO, GEO targeting, and Artificial Intelligence Optimization.
- Support accessibility initiatives across content, markup, and technology aspects.
- Participate regularly in planning activities with business, technology, and delivery partners.
- Provide guidance for web design, content, development, and analytics to ensure effective strategy implementation.
- Monitor website performance and user behavior to propose continual improvements.
- Collaborate with UX designers to optimize usability and audience relevancy.
- Partner with leadership and various teams including Marketing and IT to align strategies and advise on best web practices.
- Lead website transformation projects, such as redesigns, platform migrations, and the integration of emerging technologies like Generative AI.
- Ensure web initiatives are consistent with broader marketing efforts including campaigns, paid media, social media, and email.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communication, or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of relevant professional experience in digital strategy or web management.
- Exceptional strategic thinking abilities linking digital initiatives to business and customer impact.
- Strong knowledge of usability principles and user-centric design.
- Proficiency in collaboration and communication, capable of translating complex concepts across diverse audiences.
- Experience with project management techniques and agile workflows.
- Familiarity with content management systems, SEO, GEO targeting, and web analytics tools.
Preferred Enhancements
- Hands-on experience with Adobe AEM (Adobe Experience Manager).
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
- Proficiency in both English and French languages.

- This is a permanent, full-time position based primarily in a hybrid work model requiring on-site presence two days per week.
- Work locations include EDC headquarters in Ottawa or Community Hubs in Toronto or Montreal.
- Competitive salary range typically between $96,557 and $128,743 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
