Job Overview
The role is pivotal in establishing and leading the Cyber Security Strategy and Product Management unit within the Group Information Security (GIS) department. The candidate should be a forward-thinking banking technology strategist adept at analyzing market trends and identifying innovative technologies to align with the Group’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation, execution, and upkeep of the IT Security strategy aligning with corporate goals and assist in prioritizing initiatives.
- Support annual IT Security business planning to achieve the Group’s objectives and conduct regular progress reviews.
- Provide insights into Technology Key Risk Indicators for managing IT-related risks across the Group.
- Lead IT market research to recommend technologies and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
- Coordinate GIS budgeting activities, including service plan reviews, capital and operating budget submissions, and project justification.
- Collaborate with business units to prepare and monitor annual IT Business Plans, and report progress with risk identification to GIS management.
- Develop and monitor availability and capacity plans aligned with business cycles, ensuring timely procurement and resource allocation.
- Implement key performance indicators and industry best practices within Cyber Security Strategy and Product Management to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships within GIS, IT groups, business units, external vendors, and international branches.
- Define and uphold Service Level and Operating Level Agreements between GIS, IT, and business units.
- Analyze budget performance and suggest corrective measures to stay within financial targets.
- Produce management reports detailing resource usage, trends, and forecasts.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and expedite solutions aligned with service agreements to enhance satisfaction.
- Identify process improvements, support business continuity planning and disaster recovery implementation within GIS.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop personnel to ensure high-caliber staffing and effective succession planning.
- Evaluate and recommend new product and technology solutions to keep GIS aligned with industry advancements.
- Manage project delivery ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
- Compile management information systems for executive review and compare system efficiencies against new technologies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives promoting innovative problem-solving and cross-team collaboration.
- Possess strong knowledge of frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL; maintain detailed understanding of IT architectures and configuration management solutions.
- Identify and pursue professional development for self and team members to foster expertise and career growth.
- Attend specialized conferences on financial technology innovation and apply relevant advances to the bank’s security products.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies including AML, CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, and whistleblowing.
- Execute responsibilities under the Three Lines of Defence risk management principle.
- Maintain data confidentiality and protect sensitive commercial information.
- Continuously update the CISO about emerging cyber risks and ensure cybersecurity architecture and product portfolios are current and compliant.
- Supervise cybersecurity budget formulation and ensure licenses and contracts remain valid and properly sized.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support QNB.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in IT service management, technical design, implementation, and maintenance on diverse platforms including core banking systems.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in major banking environments, with at least 5 years in managerial IT Security engineering or architecture roles.
- Required professional credentials include ITIL Foundation, TOGAF, and COBIT certifications; preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, and CISA.
