Job description
Overview
This role entails establishing and heading the Asset Management division for QNB Singapore, managing Asia-based funds and externally/internal investment products. The leader will drive business expansion and financial outcomes while ensuring regulatory adherence and Group policy compliance. Leading the team to meet strategic and operational asset management goals is central to the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic and business plans specific to QNB Singapore's Asset Management segment.
- Deliver on the Asia Wealth Management Group's business plan targets, encompassing volume, revenues, and profitability.
- Explore and generate new business in coordination with other divisional heads to support expansion.
- Build and sustain robust client relationships.
- Advise existing and prospective clients with value-adding investment and asset management solutions tailored to their needs.
- Design fund creation proposals and present them to the Investment Management Committee.
- Oversee introducing and launching new funds based in Singapore and Asia.
- Track fund performance rigorously and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with asset management regulations and policies set by Qatar Central Bank and MAS.
- Guide and develop the Singapore asset management team to enhance professionalism, performance, and business success.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields; MBA preferred.
- Professional certification such as CFA or equivalent is advantageous.
- Minimum of 12 years diversified asset management experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within a similar function.
- In-depth understanding of asset management operations, relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with risk management methodologies and processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills combined with confidence to engage with all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, organizational and analytical capabilities, with experience managing culturally diverse teams.
