Role Overview
The Senior Marketing Operations Specialist role reports directly to the Senior Analytics Manager and is a pivotal, high-impact individual contributor position. This role involves hands-on responsibility for strategizing, building, executing, and managing marketing operations end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate at the intersection of marketing, engineering, and analytics to translate complex marketing strategies into technical specifications, infrastructure, and scalable solutions.
- Take full ownership of the enterprise Email Service Provider (ESP), Braze, including management of data inflows/outflows, customer data platform (CDP) integrations, and unsubscribe management to maintain a top-tier messaging operation.
- Lead Ad Operations execution by configuring event passbacks to paid advertising platforms, installing and managing tracking pixels, and optimizing ad spend through precise event implementations.
- Manage the full campaign lifecycle from conception through delivery by setting UTM tracking standards, designing scalable data ingestion pipelines, and constructing ESP infrastructure that supports rapid experimentation.
- Develop and maintain rigorous campaign monitoring, alerting, and validation systems to ensure accurate technical setups and flawless message delivery.
- Ensure compliance with data governance best practices and deliverability standards across the marketing technology stack, including adherence to CAN-SPAM regulations and maintenance of IP and domain reputation.
- Innovate lifecycle messaging by developing advanced personalization mechanisms that engage customers with uniquely timed and relevant communications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing enterprise ESPs and CDPs, with expertise in maintaining data cleanliness and handling data flows; experience with Braze is highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of direct involvement in Ad Operations, including pixel setup, server-side tracking, and managing targeting strategies across multiple channels such as Search, Social, Display, and OTT.
- Proficient in SQL, with the ability to query, transform, and model complex datasets to support targeted audience creation.
- A unique combination of marketing acumen, engineering understanding, and analytical skills, enabling the translation of marketing goals into executable technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of email deliverability, IP/domain health, and relevant regulatory frameworks like CAN-SPAM.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Braze Liquid scripting, Connected Content features, and complex journey orchestration within the ESP.
- Experience operating in heavily regulated industries such as financial services, where targeting restrictions apply.
- Knowledge of modern data technologies including Snowflake, dbt, Looker, and Segment.

This position is based in the United States, specifically San Francisco, CA, requiring onsite presence.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range offered is $157,000 to $196,000 annually, with the final figure dependent on qualifications, internal equity, location, and budget considerations. Additional benefits include annual performance bonuses and equity options.
