Job description

Overview

This role is being hired through a partner company that handles applications and all follow-up steps. The opportunity is for a Senior FP&A Lead in Canada.

It is a high-ownership finance leadership position supporting founder-led consumer and retail businesses during phases of expansion, transformation, and scale. In this role, you will act as a trusted analytical partner to senior leaders, turning complex financial information into practical strategic insight that supports decisions across several portfolio companies. The job combines hands-on financial modeling with executive advisory work, so you should be comfortable both building models from the ground up and presenting findings to CFOs, founders, and investors.

You will be responsible for planning cycles, performance reporting, and detailed analysis across multiple engagements, helping leadership teams understand the drivers behind margin, cash flow, and growth. The environment is fast-moving and multi-client, so accuracy, independence, and commercial judgment are critical. This opportunity is best suited to a finance professional working at or near a senior FP&A leadership level, with strong exposure to consumer-oriented businesses.

Key accountabilities

You will oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting across several client engagements, ensuring leadership teams receive timely, accurate, and action-oriented information. You will work closely with CFOs and operators as a core analytical partner, helping shape direction through data-backed recommendations.

  • Manage weekly and monthly financial reporting, with consistent KPI tracking, reliable data quality, and insights that support decisions across portfolio companies
  • Work alongside accounting and controllership teams to review financial data, reconciliations, and month-end reporting outputs
  • Create and update executive dashboards, board decks, and investor-facing financial reports
  • Run budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across multiple client organizations
  • Develop and maintain three-statement models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity analyses
  • Evaluate unit economics, pricing, margins, COGS, and operational drivers to surface trends and risk areas
  • Support fundraising, M&A, and due diligence work through financial models, data rooms, and investor materials
  • Serve as a strategic sounding board to CFOs, founders, and senior operators across marketing, operations, and supply chain

Requirements

You should bring strong experience in FP&A and corporate finance, along with the ability to thrive in complex, fast-changing environments. The ideal candidate is confident in financial modeling, stakeholder communication, and turning data into strategic recommendations.

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial operations, or a similar field
  • Advanced financial modeling capability, including three-statement models, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts such as revenue recognition, accruals, and inventory accounting
  • Background in consumer, retail, CPG, DTC, or other product-driven business models
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver strong outputs for several stakeholders
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with prior exposure to CFOs, founders, or investors
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, multi-client, or consulting-style setting
  • Experience with financial tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or comparable systems is a plus

Benefits

  • Access to a perk marketplace valued at over $200K, including discounts from 150+ global services
  • Ability to access up to 50% of approved earnings before payday
  • Remote-first setup with a flexible working structure
  • Exposure to fast-growing consumer and retail brands across North America
  • High autonomy with direct influence on executive decisions
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced finance leaders and operators
