Senior Expert in Energy Auditing and Measurement & Verification (M&V)

Overview

NTU International is preparing a proposal for the European Union-funded project "Technical Assistance to the Energy Transition Support Program in Benin (ATE)", which supports the implementation of energy efficiency programs and the development of mechanisms for monitoring energy savings and performance. The project also aims to strengthen institutional and technical capacities in energy auditing, energy consumption monitoring, and evaluation of energy investment impacts.

NTU International is looking for a Senior Expert in Energy Auditing and Measurement & Verification (M&V) to support energy audit activities, performance monitoring, and energy savings evaluations in Benin.

Key Responsibilities

• Support carrying out energy audits in buildings, industrial facilities, and public infrastructure.
• Provide technical assistance on methodologies for measurement and verification (M&V) of energy savings.
• Contribute to developing methodological frameworks and protocols for monitoring energy performance.
• Assist in energy consumption analyses and identify opportunities for energy optimization.
• Advise beneficiary institutions on energy performance indicators and monitoring systems.
• Support development of systems for data collection and energy data analysis.
• Assist in preparing audit reports, technical recommendations, and energy improvement plans.
• Engage in capacity building activities related to energy audits and M&V methodologies.
• Contribute to tracking impacts of energy investments and efficiency programs.
• Participate in dialogue with public operators, industry players, and technical partners in the energy sector.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in energy engineering, electrical engineering, energy efficiency, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in energy audits, energy management, or energy efficiency.
• Proven experience in energy or industrial projects.
• Experience working on programs funded by the European Union, World Bank, African Development Bank, French Development Agency, GIZ, or other international donors.
• A minimum of 7 years of focused experience in energy audits or measurement and verification systems.
• Proficient in IPMVP protocols, energy monitoring systems, or energy performance analyses.
• Strong knowledge of energy equipment, industrial systems, and energy optimization solutions.
• Experience in industrial, public building, or energy infrastructure sectors is a significant advantage.
• Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially West Africa, is highly desirable.
• Professional certification in energy auditing or M&V is an advantage.

Languages

• Fluency in spoken and written French (minimum C1 level).
• Professional proficiency in English is an asset.
