Role Overview
This role of National Account Manager involves expanding company sales, enhancing distributor and national account coverage, and developing enduring partnerships with both new and existing national chain accounts. The position reports to the VP of Sales and requires working independently and collaboratively within the national distribution network to secure partnerships and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute direct sales calls to major national and regional off-premise and on-premise chains, including duty-free, cruise lines, and clubs.
- Maintain an up-to-date contact list of National/Regional Accounts leadership and distributor chain teams.
- Provide effective training presentations to off-premise and on-premise decision-makers to build distributor knowledge and confidence in Dominion's portfolio.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to establish programs, pricing, new item distribution, and respond to RFPs within major chains.
- Identify and recommend tactical activities for territory business growth and coordinate resources with the Vice President of Branded Sales.
- Develop, update, and execute account target lists consistently.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance to plan and implement programming.
- Monitor market expenditures to ensure effectiveness and alignment with profit, revenue, and distribution goals.
- Leverage current marketing initiatives to create brand-building chain-specific programs.
- Analyze data and market trends to evaluate performance and capitalize on opportunities.
- Design and collaborate on brand-building calendars and new product development opportunities with private labels.
- Prioritize tasks, communicate proactively, maintain professionalism, and provide monthly and quarterly executive updates.
- Manage portfolio priorities and execute new item initiatives.
- Accept additional responsibilities and projects as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of experience within the beverage alcohol industry focused on national accounts covering major national and regional chains.
- Deep understanding of on-premise and off-premise retail environments within the three-tier system, with proven national account and distributor management experience.
- Established and current relationships with major national and regional off-premise and on-premise chain accounts are mandatory; candidates without this will not be considered.
- Proven ability to communicate brand knowledge persuasively to national accounts.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for pattern recognition and opportunity identification.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and mastery of internal market and account reporting systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time and to work flexible hours aligned with customer schedules.
- Participation in scheduled chain promotions and marketing activities is required.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Fluency in VIP, Karma, IRI, IMI, and RangeMe platforms.
- Valid state driver's license meeting company vehicle insurance requirements.
- Possession of Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) licenses as required by applicable states.
- Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle.
- Physical demands include occasional lifting/moving objects up to 45 pounds.
- Work environment typically has moderate noise levels.

Additional Information
Employment location is near a major U.S. airport, preferably in Florida, Texas, or North Carolina. No relocation assistance or benefits are provided. This is a commission-only independent contractor (1099) role.
