Job description
Role overview
This position serves as the human resources partner for designated stakeholders across the assigned departments. The role focuses on end-to-end career management for Defence Executive Officers (DXOs), along with guidance on career growth and development planning.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the HR partner for stakeholders in the assigned departments and provide strategic people-related advice and support.
- Handle the full range of career management activities for DXOs, including career planning, progression routes, and talent development efforts.
- Offer informed career counselling to DXOs on development options and advancement opportunities.
- Examine, refresh, and uphold Standard Operating Procedures so they remain aligned with current practices and compliance needs.
- Set up and maintain effective knowledge management processes and systems for the branch.
- Carry out secretariat support for the assigned committee, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation, and tracking follow-up items.
Challenges
The role requires balancing departmental priorities against wider organisational goals while preserving strong working relationships with stakeholders. It also involves handling matters that are increasingly complex and multi-layered in a professional, timely, and considered manner.
Requirements
- A qualification in Human Resources or a closely related discipline is required.
- Relevant experience in human resources or a similar field is preferred.
- Knowledge of HR policies and operational processes will be an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and analytical abilities are needed.
- The ideal candidate should be independent, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
