About the Opportunity
Our client is a prominent financial institution with extensive operations throughout North America, spanning institutional and corporate sectors, wealth management, private clients, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking. Robertson & Company Ltd. is looking to fill a Senior Business Analyst position to support this leading client in Toronto, ON.
Contract Details and Work Model
- Contract length: 12 months
- Compensation starts at $72 per hour
- Work location: Hybrid model in Toronto, Ontario
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday during core business hours
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive business analysis to identify client challenges, prospects, and technology demands; gather and detail functional, non-functional, and volumetric requirements to aid in selecting and sizing cloud-based and SaaS solutions
- Document business needs and solution ideas through proposals, business cases, briefing notes, cost-benefit analyses, and presentations
- Apply process re-engineering to enhance business efficiency involving automation, electronic forms, workflows, eSignatures, cloud hosting, SaaS, and cost-effective service delivery
- Conduct research including environmental and jurisdictional scans, feasibility studies, and maturity assessments related to legislation, policy, standards, and emerging trends
- Utilize Cloud First and Information Management principles, policies, and records classification schemes to transform business solutions, particularly on enterprise IM platforms such as OpenText
- Assess bids, costs, and proposals ensuring alignment with business needs and provide solution pricing based on components and scale
- Perform business modeling including use case, conceptual/logical data, process and data flow, and workload/capacity; conduct use case surveys; define business rules and non-functional requirements
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and traceability matrices; conduct follow-up analyses
- Support testing and acceptance processes by creating acceptance criteria, test cases, and test plans
- Lead stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and requirement intake; capture client strategies, plans, and requirements
- Qualify opportunities against business priorities and solutioning capabilities
- Facilitate collaboration between business units and IT teams to establish shared understanding of needs, limitations, and choices; negotiate optimal solutions
- Present business and technology topics and proposals tailored to diverse audiences such as operational staff and decision-makers
- Create frameworks, processes, and templates to support engagement, requirements gathering techniques (interviews, workshops, JAD sessions, mockups), AI-enabled analysis, and proposal preparation
- Develop supporting communications including presentations and guides aligned with Supply Ontario's business strategies and enterprise IT solutions
- Manage program oversight and problem resolution by summarizing opportunities, solutions, risks, issues, and deliverable statuses for IT management and stakeholders
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks and issues using formal methodologies
- Evaluate and implement effective solutions to address problems and challenges
- Assess training and awareness needs; design curricula and communication strategies
- Deliver training on relevant business and technology subjects such as information management and security to varied audiences
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information management is mandatory
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience delivering business analysis services for vital business functions supporting modernization and transformation with information management and technology
- At least 10 years experience producing comprehensive business analysis deliverables in fast-paced, dynamic environments managing multiple projects and complex stakeholder relationships concurrently
- Proven track record of leading detailed business analysis focused on client challenges and IT needs
- Strong background in gathering and documenting detailed business requirements (functional, non-functional, volumetric) to configure cloud-based or SaaS IT solutions
- Expertise in developing frameworks, models, and processes for client engagement and comprehensive requirements collection, including interviews, workshops, JAD sessions, and mockups
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse business and IT roles
- Professional certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), or relevant technology certifications highly preferred
- Experience working in or supporting public sector organizations with an understanding of their regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge and application of information management principles, policies, classification schemes to enhance and transform business solutions, particularly with enterprise platforms like OpenText
