Role Overview
This contract position for an IT Business Analyst lasts 12 months and is based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work schedule requiring two days onsite weekly. The role supports a B2B line of business in banking and credit technology, focusing on eliciting and analyzing requirements to ensure project solutions meet expected business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and assess requirements to confirm feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
- Support multiple project teams throughout the lifecycle to maintain alignment with business needs.
- Create clear, comprehensive project documents covering both functional and non-functional requirements for diverse stakeholders.
- Leverage domain and functional expertise to maximize business value within the assigned portfolio.
- Deconstruct strategic challenges and analyze data to produce insights and actionable recommendations.
- Develop test cases to verify business requirements and validate end-user testing outcomes.
- Operate primarily focusing on business or group areas, with potential enterprise-wide impact.
- Use judgment to identify and resolve problems within established guidelines.
- Independently manage complex tasks, sometimes in unique scenarios.
- May be assigned broader responsibilities when needed.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience combined with a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Foundational expertise in Waterfall and Agile methodologies, data analysis, learning agility, process optimization, business architecture frameworks, stakeholder management, digital fluency, and systems thinking.
- Intermediate skills in defining and analyzing business requirements, generating insights and reports, application functional design, functional analysis, communication (verbal and written), collaboration, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, data-driven decision making, and technical proficiency acquired through education or experience.
Desirable Skills
- Ability to comprehend technical terminology related to architecture, data analysis, and data flows.
- Previous experience within the financial or banking sector is advantageous.
