About the Role
Nord Anglia Education invites applications for the position of Secondary Arabic Teacher at Etqan Global Academy (EGA), a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar. This role involves delivering a tailored curriculum and preparing students for IGCSE and IB Diploma external examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement a bespoke curriculum focused on Arabic language education from IGCSE through the IB Diploma level.
- Create an encouraging learning environment that challenges and motivates students to excel.
- Enhance students' language, literacy, and communication skills integrated with subject knowledge.
- Develop individual progression pathways for students with personalized success opportunities.
- Provide instruction in Arabic as a Second Language for IGCSE and post-16 levels, including IB Diploma courses.
- Organize educational visits and invite guest speakers to enrich classroom learning, and contribute to the extracurricular activities program.
- Participate actively in school community events and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Exchange and promote best teaching practices, representing the school and Arabic subject positively.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a university degree or higher diploma in Arabic.
- Proven experience teaching Arabic in International School settings.
- Demonstrated ability to teach Arabic to post-16 and IB Diploma students.
- Experience teaching Arabic as a Second Language at IGCSE or similar level.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in Arabic.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree and a traditional (face-to-face) teaching qualification, compliant with Qatar visa regulations.
- Advanced qualifications such as a master's degree or evidence of continuous professional development are preferred.
- Possession of strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, a positive attitude, and a values-driven approach.
