Job Overview

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) offers the flexibility to work remotely with occasional visits to our nurseries and offices located in Northampton and London. Role Purpose

The Safeguarding Insight Analyst is tasked with converting data related to safeguarding, investigations, compliance, and regulations into meaningful insights aimed at minimizing risks, ensuring compliance, and fostering ongoing improvements. This position manages data from diverse sources to construct reports, dashboards, forecasts, and analytical models that empower leaders to spot emerging patterns, track performance, and make informed decisions that enhance safeguarding measures across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine safeguarding, compliance, and operational data to detect trends, irregularities, and potential risks.
• Deliver insights on safeguarding activities, incident patterns, regulatory outcomes, and organizational risk indicators.
• Design and maintain dashboards and report systems that track essential safeguarding KPIs and performance metrics.
• Provide actionable recommendations to advance safeguarding processes and reduce risks.
• Carry out in-depth investigations into safeguarding cases to uncover root causes and intervention opportunities.
• Develop forecasting and predictive models to anticipate safeguarding trends, workload, and organizational risks.
• Continuously monitor safeguarding performance indicators and issue early alerts on rising concerns.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding initiatives and improvement programs through data-driven analysis.
• Utilize data to guide resource allocation, priority setting, and strategic decision-making.
• Create and sustain Power BI dashboards and automated reports related to safeguarding metrics.
• Produce accurate, timely, and insightful reports for leaders, operational teams, and executives.
• Ensure reports are clear, actionable, and understandable at all organizational levels.
• Translate complex datasets into straightforward visualizations and compelling narratives tailored for non-technical audiences.
• Serve as the data custodian for safeguarding analytics and reporting.
• Guarantee data integrity and consistency across systems and reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, Systems, and safeguarding teams to enhance data quality and reporting capabilities.
• Maintain documentation including reporting definitions, data dictionaries, and safeguarding governance materials.
• Partner with various teams to grasp business challenges and develop analytical solutions.
• Assist senior leaders with insight-based recommendations and evidence for strategic planning.
• Present findings and strategic advice to stakeholders across all levels.
• Promote organizational learning by sharing trend insights that improve safeguarding effectiveness and outcomes.

Required Experience and Skills

• Strong expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, visualization, and dashboard creation.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel use.
• Experience handling large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
• Skill in designing reporting frameworks, KPI dashboards, and management information systems.
• Familiarity with SQL or similar data query languages is preferred.
• Understanding of data governance principles, quality assurance, and reporting standards.
• Capability to transform business inquiries into analytical methods and practical insights.
• Strong trend analysis, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and engagingly.
• Excellent data visualization and storytelling competencies.
• High attention to detail combined with unwavering commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience in early childhood education, childcare, healthcare, or other regulated safeguarding contexts.
• Experience with safeguarding case data or compliance and audit frameworks.
• Knowledge of safeguarding laws, standards, or inspection processes.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent experience in relevant areas such as data analytics, social care, or business is desirable.
• Professional qualifications in data analysis, safeguarding, or risk management are also advantageous.
