About the Role

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) represents and supports physicians, aiming to enhance their leadership in patient care within Ontario's healthcare system. As a recognized top employer in Greater Toronto, OMA is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Budget to provide expert financial analysis, assist in project management, and generate precise financial reports. This role leverages AI-powered tools to boost analytical insight and efficiency, including the creation of automated reports with Jet Reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing the annual budgets and periodic forecasts for assigned departments by conducting thorough cost analyses and detailed financial reviews.
  • Deliver prompt, insightful evaluations of actual financial outcomes, including explanatory commentary on significant variances against budgets, forecasts, and previous years.
  • Create comprehensive financial reports and presentations for OMA and its subsidiaries, utilizing Jet Reports to develop dynamic reporting tools.
  • Carry out timely reconciliations of designated accounts, preparing supporting schedules and analyses for financial statements.
  • Aid internal and external audits by compiling working papers and documentation for the year-end audit process.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing accounting operations and procedures, employing AI-based solutions and sophisticated reporting tools to improve analysis accuracy and reporting effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Holds Canadian CPA certification.
  • Between six and nine years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis, with proven ability to execute and present complex financial evaluations.
  • Proficient with financial and reporting software such as Business Central, Jet Reports, Prophix, and Concur.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with financial reporting and budgeting tools to inform decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities coupled with thorough knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
