Internship Overview
This internship provides practical experience supporting sustainability work across a global real assets platform, with the main emphasis on real estate. You will partner with the Sustainability team and work alongside colleagues in investment, asset management, and operations.
The assignment gives exposure to how sustainability is woven into the investment process, including data gathering, reporting, asset-level projects, and communication with investors. It is designed to help you contribute to impactful work while building a strong foundation in real estate sustainability.
The internship is expected to last four months initially.
What You Will Work On
- Help roll out sustainability initiatives across the real estate portfolio.
- Support sustainability due diligence for new acquisitions, including review and quality assurance work.
- Track and assist with sustainability actions at the asset level.
- Contribute to sustainability data collection, validation, and ingestion into internal tools.
- Assist with investor reporting and benchmarking work, including GRESB and INREV-related reporting.
- Respond to investor sustainability information requests across real estate funds.
- Prepare supporting materials for investor meetings.
- Research sustainability regulations, climate-related risks, and market trends.
- Help carry out climate risk screening across real estate portfolios.
- Assist in creating content and coordinating internal sustainability training sessions.
- Support the Sustainability team on active projects and work with colleagues across functions to move key topics forward.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate is proactive, well organized, execution-driven, and able to work with limited supervision. They should be comfortable turning complex technical information into clear, executive-ready communication and pushing initiatives ahead in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Compensation and Additional Information
The starting base pay for this position is $35 per hour. Final compensation is determined individually and may also include commission, incentive pay, discretionary bonuses, and other short- or long-term incentive arrangements, along with Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefits.
