Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Investment Banking Associate to join the Banks and Diversified Financials coverage team at our New York office. This role involves collaborating with both regional and international clients on a variety of sophisticated transactions, such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, defending against unsolicited takeover attempts, strategic advisory projects, and executing both public and private capital market deals. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members to provide high-caliber guidance and contribute creatively beyond financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in complex financial transactions including M&A and capital market executions specific to the banking sector.
- Collaborate with senior professionals to deliver exceptional advisory and execution support across diverse financial institution deals.
- Utilize deep analytical expertise to interpret financial data related to banks and depository institutions.
- Contribute innovative ideas and maintain superior standards of work quality and detail.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum three years of investment banking experience, preferably as an analyst or associate, or possession of an MBA.
- Demonstrated success in deal execution involving M&A and various financial industry segments, with special emphasis on banks.
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. banking sector with the ability to analyze financial information effectively.
- Proficiency with valuation techniques and industry data platforms such as SNL, Capital IQ, and relevant regulatory data.
- Exceptional motivation, discipline, and a commitment to excellence.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside technical aptitude.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree required; possession of an MBA, CA, or CFA designation is advantageous.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain relevant Series licensing.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting base salary range is from $150,000 to $225,000 annually. This amount will be individually determined based on candidate qualifications. Total compensation may include commissions, incentive bonuses, discretionary rewards, and other benefit programs provided by the firm.
