About the Role
This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional experienced in executing public health programs and interventions, who is passionate about improving health outcomes across Wales for both current and future generations. We seek someone highly driven, analytical, and an effective communicator, preferably with experience collaborating across various public sector organizations.
The Wider Determinants of Health Unit is expanding and looking for a motivated individual to contribute to Public Health Wales’ seven strategic priorities. You will play a vital role in supporting Public Health Network Cymru by managing the implementation of its development plan. This Network, hosted within the Unit, intends to inform, enable, and connect professionals from diverse sectors to enhance population health, well-being, and decrease health inequality.
Your responsibilities will include supporting broader Unit initiatives such as addressing worklessness as a factor affecting health equity. This role operates under an agile working approach with a negotiable base location. Benefits include 27 days of holiday (which increases with length of service) and a competitive pension scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement projects tackling wider health determinants at the Wales-wide level.
- Conduct monitoring and assist with evaluations of efforts to enhance population health and reduce inequalities.
- Track progress of project plans linked to the Public Health Wales Long Term Strategy.
- Support the creation of interventions co-designed with key partners and the public.
- Take a lead role in distributing knowledge and evidence focused on determinants impacting health.
