Public Health Research Assistant

Position Overview

This is a fixed-term opportunity or secondment available until 31st March 2027. Applicants interested in a secondment must obtain prior permission from their current line manager. Public Health Wales is seeking an experienced researcher to contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing health and well-being across Wales. The role is based within the Policy and International Health Directorate, offering a chance to apply research expertise in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Role Details

The successful candidate will join the Policy and International Health Directorate, collaborating specifically with the Specialist Projects team and the Health Equity team in a split capacity. Responsibilities include applying both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and understanding evaluation principles. Strong communication abilities are essential for effective collaboration within Public Health Wales and external partners.

The post involves robust project management to ensure timely progress and thorough documentation of all tasks. The Research Assistant will work closely with Programme and Project Leads to support the design, execution, and dissemination of research aligned with public health goals. Line management will be provided by the Senior Public Health Specialist.
