Role Overview
Join NHS Wales Performance and Improvement in a prominent leadership capacity as the Head of Corporate Business. This senior role demands strategic oversight of corporate governance, risk management, assurance, compliance with Welsh language standards, and overall corporate business functions. You will play a critical role in shaping and reinforcing the organisation's governance and operational management frameworks. Close collaboration with the Chief of Staff, Senior Director Team, and NHS Wales colleagues is essential to uphold top standards of accountability, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance, assurance, and critical analysis on governance, risk, compliance, and organisational performance to senior leadership.
- Lead and oversee multidisciplinary teams within Corporate Governance, Compliance, and Corporate Business, managing workforce plans, performance, staff growth, and wellbeing.
- Manage corporate information systems such as Datix, Power BI, and SharePoint to ensure robust governance and assurance reporting.
- Direct the preparation of vital corporate documentation including reports, assurance statements, and annual compliance reporting.
- Develop and implement organisation-wide training and capacity-building programmes related to governance, risk, compliance, and corporate processes.
- Act as deputy to the Chief of Staff on sensitive, complex, and high-stake situations; represent the organisation at senior-level meetings and national forums.
- Lead thorough investigations, organisational reviews, and improvement projects to embed learning and enhance services and organisational development.
- Champion a culture prioritising continuous improvement, accountability, transparency, and governance excellence.
