Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team based in North West Leicestershire at the Hawthorn Centre, Coalville. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note, sponsorship for this position is not available.

Team Environment and Responsibilities

The role involves working independently within a wider community mental health setting, delivering the utmost care to our clients while embodying the Trust's core values. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including qualified/unqualified nursing staff, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, community connectors, and administrative personnel. Close collaboration with GPs, community health services, mental health services, and social services is essential, all aiming for a holistic, recovery-centered approach.

Key duties include supporting clients to maintain health and wellbeing, performing specific clinical and therapeutic interventions under supervision, assisting in planning and delivering clinical care, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, helping implement and assess personalized care plans, accurately documenting patient information, and supporting colleagues and trainees.

Work will be carried out under the indirect supervision of qualified professionals. You will be expected to undertake delegated tasks outlined in care plans and provide support to patients and their carers. Having ECG and phlebotomy training is advantageous or a willingness to complete these courses is expected.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

  • Permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
  • A six-month probationary period applies
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK
  • DBS disclosure costs are to be borne by the employee and will be deducted from salary
