About the Role

We are seeking passionate and caring Healthcare Assistants dedicated to making a positive impact on patients within a trauma and orthopaedic ward. This role involves providing exceptional support to patients, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses, and being a vital part of a team that values kindness, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Team and Environment

Fountains Ward offers a warm, friendly setting shaped by the Trust's core values of kindness, integrity, teamwork, and equality (KITE). The orthopaedic ward, led by Ward Manager Gemma, fosters a supportive environment where staff are encouraged to continuously learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned care duties directly supporting patient needs under Registered Nurse supervision.
  • Assist nursing staff with patient care and immediately communicate any concerns or changes in patient condition.
  • Contribute as an active and integrated member of the ward team, following established policies and nursing procedures.
  • Maintain patient dignity and self-respect at all times while ensuring high-quality care standards.
  • Uphold health and safety practices protecting staff and patients.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work in various areas of the unit when required.
  • Manage daily tasks autonomously following guidance and instructions.
  • Commit to continuous improvement by learning from patient experiences and promoting patient safety and satisfaction throughout the care journey.
