Job description
Job Overview
The Project Manager will hold primary responsibility for overseeing the development and execution of assigned construction projects. These projects encompass new meetinghouses, CES seminaries and small institutes, minor welfare initiatives, and larger research and innovation projects. The role demands adherence to departmental objectives pertaining to budget, quality, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the work of service providers including architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure performance standards are met, and continuously seek and provide improvements (30%).
- Analyze project data to identify opportunities for upholding and advancing performance targets (20%).
- Support and collaborate with related teams such as Operations and Maintenance by offering expertise and services when required (10%).
- Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of real estate properties to minimize impact on construction costs and project timelines (10%).
- Provide robust project management assistance to stake presidents, addressing challenges within the established policy framework (10%).
- Contribute to colleagues' professional development by sharing specialist knowledge (10%).
- Engage in continuous professional growth through training and skill development activities (10%).
Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor's degree or local equivalent in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
- Minimum three to five years of relevant construction field experience, such as construction management or strong building construction exposure in roles like firm owner, project manager, or superintendent.
- Proven leadership, business acumen, management, and negotiation capabilities.
- Effective communication skills with sensitivity and respect in dealing with ecclesiastical leaders, real estate representatives, architects, engineers, contractors, city building officials, government agencies, neighborhood groups, and zoning boards.
- Competence in basic estimating, scheduling, and project analysis.
- Strong public relations skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and personnel successfully.
- Proficiency in computer-based cost control and scheduling tools for performance analysis and reporting.
- Professional certification in a major related field is preferable.
