Produce Production Team Member (Fruit and Vegetable Cutter) - Full Time

Overview

This role involves executing all tasks related to processing and presenting products in the produce section. The incumbent must consistently uphold a positive company image by delivering courteous, approachable, and effective service to both customers and fellow team members. All activities should align with the team's and store's established Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, the employee must remain ready to fulfill responsibilities described in other team member roles and embody Whole Foods Market's fundamental values, support various programs, and comply with health, safety, and food safety standards applicable to the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Carefully cut fruits and vegetables in compliance with all safety and hygiene protocols.
• Ensure all products meet Whole Foods Market's quality and preparation standards.
• Manage and maintain the sampling initiatives.
• Continuously keep the department clean, logging sweeping activities accordingly.
• Arrive promptly to shifts, properly groomed and dressed, ready to perform duties; attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Deliver excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer needs and using suggestive selling methods; respond courteously to calls and pages.
• Maximize sales by preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products effectively.
• Adhere to all relevant procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation protocols, and workplace safety practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work and shopping areas; uphold equipment standards according to company policies.
• Complete assigned tasks for store opening, middle, and closing shifts; verify accuracy of signage and pricing.
• Immediately report any safety hazards or violations.
• Perform other duties as delegated by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience Requirements

Physical and Working Conditions

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and walking for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling motions.
• Physical activities include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Work environment includes cold temperatures (below freezing and refrigerated areas) and heat over 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
• Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in using tools and machinery like knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.
