Overview

The Prepared Foods Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area to support a hygienic environment in line with Whole Foods Market standards. The role demands courteous and efficient service to customers and colleagues, adherence to standard operating procedures, and a commitment to food safety and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and rinse dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small kitchen tools.
• Maintain the tidiness of kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelving units.
• Assist in receiving deliveries, ensuring products are stored, organized, and rotated properly.
• Report to the assigned work area punctually, be appropriately attired and prepared for scheduled shifts, and participate in required training and meetings.
• Deliver excellent customer service, respond promptly and courteously to customer needs, including answering phones and messages.
• Support sales by properly prepping, stocking, rotating, and merchandising products.
• Follow health and safety procedures including Weights and Measures, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and equipment as per company hygiene standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing tasks and ensure signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by leadership at store, regional, or national levels.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing or walking required for 6 to 8 hours per 8-hour shift.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, manipulating, pushing, and pulling.
• Required motions include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved sanitizing chemicals.
• Work environments vary with temperatures from freezing (below 32°F), refrigerated (32-40°F), to high heat areas (above 90°F).
• Work involves both wet and dry conditions.
• A flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.
• Experience using tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.

Compensation and Benefits
