Job description

Role Overview

NTU International A/S is preparing an offer for the EU-funded project "Technical Assistance to the Energy Transition Support Program in Benin (ATE)" aimed at accelerating Benin's energy transition, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions as outlined in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).

The technical assistance will support implementation of the ATE program, sector policy dialogue, energy sector governance, financing mechanisms, energy access, energy efficiency, and renewable energy development.

NTU International is seeking a Principal Expert - Team Leader to coordinate and manage all aspects of the technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Jointly oversee and coordinate project activities with the DGPER to ensure effective implementation.
  • Facilitate the ATE program execution together with the DGPER.
  • Define the work program and task content in collaboration with the DGPER.
  • Plan and organize recruitment and missions for non-principal experts.
  • Ensure solid organization and quality of activities and outcomes.
  • Support preparation of various required reports related to program implementation.
  • Assist in policy dialogue regarding budgetary support.
  • Maintain regular contact with the EU Delegation in Cotonou.
  • Ensure adequate project visibility.
  • Develop planning and monitoring tools for the program alongside the DGPER.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in energy, electrical engineering, engineering sciences, social sciences, economics, organizational management, environmental sciences, or relevant fields connected to the ATE program.
  • Proficiency with office software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools (PowerPoint), and other programs relevant to program activities.

Professional Experience

  • At least 12 years of work experience in the energy sector, with a minimum of 7 years in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Strong background as a team leader in technical assistance missions in the energy sector; involvement in EU budget support program formulation or implementation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in capacity building of institutional actors within the energy sector.
  • Good understanding of green financing instruments.

Languages

Fluent written and spoken French and good knowledge of English are required.
