Job description
Role Overview
Archbold Home Health Services, part of LHC Group and the Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients in Thomasville, Georgia. This position focuses on carrying out treatment, teaching exercises, and providing patient education to help improve a patient’s overall well-being, while working strictly within the established plan of care.
This opportunity includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out treatment only within the plan of care set by the supervising physical therapist and in accordance with state laws that govern physical therapy practice in home care.
- Perform only the procedures you are properly trained and authorized to provide, and submit any recommended plan-of-care changes to the supervising PT.
- Guide patients through active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, functional training, activities of daily living, transfer practice, safety instruction, and prosthetic training.
- Monitor the patient’s response to therapy and note any changes in condition, then report updates to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician as appropriate.
- Coordinate with other members of the care team when needed.
- Teach patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members about therapy areas that fall within the PTA scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a current license, registration, or certification to assist in physical therapy in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and either access to a reliable vehicle or access to public transportation.
- Should be able to work in any home setting regardless of a client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial status.
- Must be available for weekend rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfort with the physical demands of patient care, including lifting, transferring, and helping patients move safely.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay is influenced by several factors, including local labor market conditions, education, work history, certifications, and related considerations. The employer offers a benefits package that may include incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility requirements.
For full-time employment, the hourly rate is stated as ranging from $28.56 to $42.84 per hour. Additional listed pay references include an annual total cash target pay of $49,505 to $74,257, an hourly pay range of $23.80 to $35.70, and a per-visit point pay range of $28.56 to $42.84.
