About the Role
Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking a committed individual to join the Environmental Services Department as a permanent, full-time Housekeeping Aide in the Surgical Services Department. This essential position is dedicated to upholding a sterile, organized, and secure environment within the Operating Room and adjacent clinical areas. The successful candidate will work weekday day shifts, collaborating directly with the surgical team to ensure a safe and clean setting for high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Sanitize and disinfect operating rooms and related areas in line with strict infection control protocols and hospital policies.
- Carry out daily and post-procedure cleaning of surgical areas and equipment.
- Gather and appropriately dispose of both general and biomedical waste.
- Manage handling of soiled linens and timely restocking of departmental supplies.
- Execute assigned work orders efficiently and maintain cleaning equipment in good condition.
- Comply with all institutional infection prevention, safety standards, and operating policies.
- Provide effective support and communication within the surgical team to maintain patient safety.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Work experience and knowledge in a similar setting are considered advantageous.
- Must be capable of fulfilling all physical and procedural responsibilities of the job.
- Demonstrated clear and professional communication skills.
- Exhibits attentiveness and a conscientious approach to duties.
- Adherence to Dryden Regional Health Centre’s policies and procedures is essential.
- Commitment to the institution’s Code of Conduct, Standards of Behavior, and Core Values (Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion, Respect).
- A valid immunization record, including proof of Covid-19 vaccination, must be submitted before hire.
Compensation and Benefits
- This unionized position offers compensation according to the Collective Agreement; initial pay rate is $25.24 per hour.

- This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, during daytime hours.
