Role Overview
We seek a Part-Time Porter to become part of our Bell Desk team at Cordis Auckland. This role is vital in delivering a welcoming, smooth, and premium experience from arrival to departure for guests. As one of the first and final hotel representatives guests interact with, your duties cover handling luggage, managing valet parking, responding to guest inquiries, and ensuring the front entrance and lobby areas are immaculate and inviting.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer a courteous, personalized, and professional greeting to every guest.
- Assist guests with arrivals, departures, luggage handling, storage, and delivery.
- Manage valet parking tasks, ensuring guest vehicles are handled with care and professionalism.
- Coordinate luggage logistics for individual visitors, groups, and tours.
- Address guest queries by providing relevant information about the hotel facilities and local surroundings.
- Collaborate with Front Office and other departments to fulfill guest requests timely.
- Ensure the efficient daily functioning of the Bell Desk and Front Services areas.
- Monitor lobby presentation, front entrance activity, traffic flow, and guest safety consistently.
- Maintain Bell Desk equipment, storage space, and uphold hotel presentation guidelines.
- Process guest billing charges and accurately keep necessary records.
- Handle guest concerns calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
- Provide support to the broader Front Office team whenever needed.
- Exemplify Cordis Auckland’s professionalism, initiative, and dedication to exceptional guest service.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in porter, concierge, front office, guest services, or customer service roles is beneficial.
- Experience in hotel or luxury settings is advantageous but not essential.
- Must hold a valid, full, and clean New Zealand driver’s license.
- Availability to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and occasional overnight duties.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a warm and professional communication manner.
- Able to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to resolve problems effectively.
- Confidence in engaging with guests and addressing diverse enquiries.
- Impeccable grooming and professional appearance required.
- A positive work ethic and a cooperative spirit to support the team.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
