Role Overview

The Food and Beverage Supervisor for Banquets will spearhead daily operations in a bustling five-star hotel setting. Responsible for guiding the team during various events such as conferences, corporate gatherings, weddings, and special occasions, this position ensures flawless event execution and outstanding guest satisfaction. Applicants must possess legal work entitlement in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food and beverage services for banquet events, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Lead pre-event briefings to communicate event specifications, guest expectations, and service protocols clearly to the team.
  • Manage Food and Beverage Attendants during events, monitoring punctuality, professionalism, and seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Kitchen staff, Conference and Events teams, and other hotel departments to relay guest needs effectively.
  • Maintain event spaces at high presentation standards, prepared accordingly for each function.
  • Handle last-minute adjustments and guest issues promptly and courteously.
  • Support team members by fostering personalized guest experiences and unforgettable moments.
  • Coach and inspire colleagues through ongoing feedback and hands-on assistance.
  • Ensure accurate completion of opening/closing procedures, POS transactions, and compliance obligations.
  • Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards consistently.

  • Experience in a supervisory role within food and beverage, hospitality, or events industries.
  • Proven leadership capabilities to motivate and guide teams during high-demand periods.
  • Effective, professional, and warm communicator.

  • Passion for delivering remarkable guest experiences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage procedures, service benchmarks, and food safety practices.
  • Confidence to delegate, direct, and provide constructive coaching.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
