Job description

About the team

Mind is aiming for significant progress over the next few years, with a stronger push than ever for mental health support and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Team information

You would be joining the Income Generation Directorate, which brings together Fundraising, Retail, Business Development, and Operations to focus on building sustainable income that supports Mind’s work and reaches more people in need.

The team is designed to work across functions rather than in silos. Everyone contributes to shared targets, stronger supporter and partner relationships, and a commercially minded approach to a mission-led organisation.

Corporate Partnerships plays a central role in this work. The team generates income through high-value relationships and new commercial ideas such as cause-related marketing and merchandising collaborations. Working closely with Retail and colleagues across Income Generation, the team turns partnerships into commercial value and meaningful impact.

This is a newly integrated directorate, so there is real scope to help shape how the team works. Priorities may change over time, and there will be occasions when the post holder supports work outside the usual day-to-day remit. That flexibility is part of the opportunity.

Role overview

The New Business Officer within Corporate Partnerships will be important in winning and developing new, high-quality corporate relationships, while also providing the coordination and operational support that helps the team run effectively. The role will support delivery of the Corporate Partnerships strategy and contribute directly to an ambitious income goal.

Key responsibilities

  • Bring in new restricted and unrestricted income through proactive business development activity.
  • Maintain and grow a strong pipeline centred on long-term, high-value partnerships.
  • Create opportunities that generate income and additional value, including gift-in-kind and pro bono support.
  • Spot and engage new corporate audiences and sectors to support Mind’s future growth.
  • Ensure prospective partners receive a strong, professional experience that supports lasting relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including fundraising teams, brand, communications and policy colleagues, the social impact team, and outside contacts.

Additional information

This position may require an appropriate DBS check. Mind follows safer recruitment practices and welcomes applications from people from all communities. A criminal record will not automatically prevent someone from being considered; this depends on the role and the circumstances involved. The organisation follows the DBS Code of Practice and treats all applicants fairly.

Equality statement

Mind is committed to equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or marriage and civil partnerships.

Application note

Candidates should review the job description carefully before applying, as shortlisting will be based on how closely applications match the personal specification.
